PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
THE HAND OVER
|
|
|
|
|
A rare occasion, yesterday with the Mihi Whakatau and the authority handover to Ms Rosanna Fouhy as Principal of Marcellin College as from Monday 18/05/26.
|
She comes to the role with 20 years of experience in catholic Schools. 10 years at Carmel College as Deputy, 7 years as DRS at De Lalle Salle College, 2 years at St Paul’s College and 1 year at Marist College.
|
|
She comes well qualified with many years of academic study and several degrees.
|
She was welcomed very warmly by the Marcellin College community, the Marist Brothers, the Board, the staff, the students, Catholic Church representatives and many principals of local Schools.
|
Her speech to the community reaffirmed 5 key themes
|
- Building the Base: In learning, in enrolment, in inculturation etc. Setting up the young men and women to succeed at an early age of their education
- Stretching the Limits: Aspiring to high standards in all aspects of College life in learning, in behaviour, in uniform etc
- Expanding the opportunities: Establishing a culture where music, The arts, Learning, sport s encouraged and expected.
- Welcoming the community: Any school is only as good as the support from all aspects of its community . Welcoming the community means enrolling the family and expanding Marcellin College horizons.
- Articulating the Catholic Tradition: The rich tradition of 2000 years involving the Head, Heart and Hands of service to each generation of students at Marcellin College.

On a farewell note, can I thank the very good community of Marcellin College.
|
I have loved my short time here.
|
My career started with Practice teaching at Marcellin College and 53 years later finished with the Principal of Marcellin College.
|
|
I will follow with real interest the progress of Marcellin College as an excellent school which:

Kerikeri Music Trip
|
Our School Jazz Band travelled to Kerikeri to perform as part of the Kerikeri Turner Centre concert series.They performed well and were well received by a lovely audience. Some of our students had family that live in the Far North made the trip to come support them which was fantastic to see.
