FAILURE or DEFERRED SUCCESS
|
|
|
|
|
A message of Hope in Christianity
|
|
A famous line in Samuel Beckett’s Play: “Waiting for Godot”
|
|
is about using loss not as failure but as an opportunity to succeed
|
Failure not as depression but as a reset for something better.
|
The tragedy is we often only hear stories about success and optimism and forget that behind these stories are events of pain and of personal and social failure/grief.
|
The teenagers in our families and school will experience failure in many forms - of being isolated, of missing out on exam success, of losing in a sporting game or cultural event and many more.
|
The answer from parents and schools is not to remove expectations or standards but to use these events as a reset. Hope!
|
Hence the phrase: “Failure as deferred success”
|

Tauranga Jazz Festival 2026
Our 2 bands that went to Tauranga

- Jazz Saints were Awarded SILVER and narrowly missed out on a Gold
- Jazz Unit were awarded a BRONZE

Term Two Reports and Progress Meeting All students will receive an Academic Achievement Report, with comments and an indication of current academic progress on Monday in Week 3 of Term Two.
|
This will be followed by two progress meeting afternoons, on Wednesday 6th May and Thursday 7th May from 2.30 pm - 6.30 pm.
|
These meetings are an important opportunity for parents to speak with teachers and discuss how best to support academic achievement. Booking information for these meetings will be sent in Term Two.
|
Additional information will also be shared with parents of Year 7, 8, 9, and 10 student early Term Two to explain how to interpret the new reporting that the government has mandated.
|
- When dropping off students of in the morning please move to the end of the lane.
- Registration for drivers: All student drivers are required to have registered (with car details) with the Deputy Principal, Mr.Darragh.
