PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
"Every Window holds a view"
|
|
|
|
|
A message about representation.
|
The other morning I caught the bus to come to school. The usual throng of morning commuter traffic of workers, students from various schools, a full bus.
|
What impressed me was the large number of Marcellin College students on the bus, with their quiet dignity, uniform respect and good behaviour,
|
- One student gave up his seat to an older person.
- 95% of the ties of senior students were done up properly.
- All junior boys Sox were drawn high.
- Every student had the Marcellin official uniform
In terms of world unrest, bombings in Iran and struggling families with petrol prices, this is very small change!
|
But in terms of family and school respect, this was significant. The window of Marcellin College showed the view of respect and dignity to that bus load of passengers and the general public.
|
Any school relies on two critical elements in the education of their sons or daughters:
|
- The visible support of Parents towards their son or daughter’s College at all school events
- The visible window of student’s behaviour and dignity in the public square
|
The statement: "Every window has a view"
|
means the community of Auckland can only see the good bones of Marcellin College through the window of its students and the window of visible parental support.
|
Thank you to the 70% (still not 90%!) of Parents who have come to recent Parent meetings.
|
Thank you to the 500 students who represent Marcellin College well in their daily lives.
|
Thank you to the many students in Polyfest competitions this week representing Marcellin College.
|

Marcellin College Jazz Band at the PASIFIKA Festival

On Sunday 15 March, our school jazz band performed for the first time at the PASIFIKA Festival at Western Springs. A good crowd were present to support them and cheer them on during their set as they represented Marcellin College.
|
|
This was the first performance with the Jazz band for some of our younger members in Year 8 (Ahosivi), Year 9 (William) & Year 10 (PJ & Lesina)
|

BasketBall Tournament - Manila, Phillipines
|
Congratulations to Year 11 student Carl Ricafrente, who has been selected to represent the Filipinos in New Zealand to a basketball tournament in Manila, Phillipines. The tournament begins from the 23rd - 29th March 2026.
|
|

Senior Girls Volleyball Team
Congratulations to our Senior Girls Volleyball team who competed at the Auckland Champs this past week.They won both pool games making it into the Semis.
|
Unfortunately they lost a close fight but then went on to win the 3rd & 4th place play-off against Auckland Girls Grammar placing them 3rd overall in their Division.
|
|
A great way to end the season of 2026!

- Registration for drivers: All student drivers are required to have registered (with car details) with the Deputy Principal, Mr.Darragh.
|
Marcellin College has a college uniform which is expected to be worn with pride by every student all times. (From Home , At College, From College until they return home).
|

- Ties for both Male and Female Year 11, 12 and 13 students are expected to be done up to the highest button. White t-shirts are NOT showing under Junior shirts.
- Only regulation uniform items are permitted.
|
Marcellin College students have dignity and grooming standards to uphold.
