“To LEGAGLISE is to NORMALISE”

A message about Critical thinking.
|
Some will have seen the weekly sign on Mt Albert road last week and silently said “ What’s that about?”
|
Certainly some people have rung in and said : “What’s that message about?”
|
The answer lies in reading the message and asking the same question!
|
The ability to ask questions and to develop critical thinking lies at the heart of any graduate from a Catholic school.
|
Critical thinking (as distinct from Status Quo thinking) lies at the heart of School Governance and School leadership.
|
Critical thinking and open mindedness lies within the good teacher of any subject.
|
Critical thinking is about student’s learning and scholarship ( as distinct from credit collection).
|
Critical thinking - asking the questions - is at the heart of the Gospel message with its need to continually adapt as communities change.
|
Marcellin College is no exception in its need to adapt and change
|
After all the enemy of GOSPEL FAITH is not DOUBT…it is CERTAINTY !

Champagnat Marist Student Leaders Forum
|
The 19th edition of the Champagnat Marist Student Leaders Forum in Ōtautahi/Christchurch took place from 19th-22nd February this year with 39 student leaders across 10 of the 11 schools’ network in attendance. Our Head Boy, Semu Asotau Fa'alavaau, and Head Girl, Felicity Pomee, represented Marcellin College for 2026.

The time together in community was spirit-filled and the Champagnat Marist Way to Jesus was not just a head journey but a journey of the heart. The programme consisted of ‘beginning stories’ of Jesus, Marcellin, our Catholic faith in Aotearoa and of self. A balance of group activities and self-reflection was well received while the organising and celebration of our youth mass was a real highlight. We are stronger together!

Upcoming Auckland Arts Festival
|
|
|
|
Current student Noah Ah Sam on drums (Yr 10) & last year's 13 student Zion Seniwaitui on vocals have been selected to perform at the upcoming Auckland Arts Festival later this month.
|
|
|

NOTICES & OPERATIONS

- Registration for drivers: All student drivers are required to have registered (with car details) with the Deputy Principal, Mr.Darragh.
|
Marcellin College has a college uniform which is expected to be worn with pride by every student all times. (From Home , At College, From College until they return home).
|
Thank you for your family support here.
|
- Ties for both Male and Female Year 11, 12 and 13 students are expected to be done up to the highest button. White t-shirts are NOT showing under Junior shirts.
- Only regulation uniform items are permitted (from Warehouse Royal Oak). The blue vest and jersey is NOT part of Marcellin uniform.

Marcellin College students have dignity and grooming standards to uphold.
